2020 Intro to Beekeeping workshop
Why are honeybees such great pollinators? How are we dealing with the environmental challenges facing bees? What effort and expense does it take to manage hives? Join us to learn about these topics and more in an introductory workshop on bees and beekeeping presented by the Northern Virginia Beekeepers Association (www.novabees.org).

The day will include instruction on fundamentals about bee biology and bee-havior, hands-on activities/familiarization with beekeeping equipment and gear, a honey tasting, and (weather permitting) a visit to the River Farm honeybee colonies.

Ages 10-adult, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
